Advertising Guidelines

Medi-Bay aims to give patients accurate, trustworthy information while giving healthcare providers an effective platform to promote their services. This is what may — and may not — be published.

By submitting a listing, article or advertisement, you agree to comply with these guidelines.

01. Who can advertise

We welcome listings from organisations and professionals involved in healthcare and wellbeing, including:

Other healthcare-related businesses may be approved by Medi-Bay on a case-by-case basis.

02. Accuracy of information

All information submitted must be accurate, truthful and current. You are responsible for ensuring that:

Business details are correct

Contact information is current

Opening hours are accurate

Qualifications and registrations are genuine

Claims can be substantiated

Pricing information, where provided, is accurate

Misleading or false information may result in removal of your listing.

03. Professional standards

Healthcare providers must comply with the laws, regulations and professional standards applicable in their country or region. Where applicable, providers should maintain appropriate registration, licences and professional indemnity insurance.

04. Advertising claims

Advertising must be honest and evidence-based. Do not make claims that cannot be supported.

Misleading before-and-after statements

Exaggerated patient outcomes

Comparative advertising that unfairly criticises competitors is not permitted.

05. Testimonials & Reviews

If testimonials are used, they must comply with applicable laws and professional advertising standards. Providers are responsible for ensuring they have permission to publish any testimonial or image.

Fake reviews or fabricated testimonials are strictly prohibited.

06. Images

Images should:

Accurately represent your business

Be professional in appearance

Be owned by you or properly licensed

Not infringe copyright

Respect patient privacy

Do not upload photographs of identifiable patients without their written consent.

07. Patient Privacy

Never publish confidential patient information. Remove or anonymise all identifying information before submitting case studies or images. Providers are responsible for complying with applicable privacy legislation.

09. Articles

Promotion Bundle subscribers may receive a dedicated article. Articles should:

Educate readers

Provide useful information

Accurately describe services

Avoid excessive promotional language

Be written in plain English

Comply with applicable healthcare advertising laws

Medi-Bay may edit articles for grammar, readability, formatting and search engine optimisation while preserving their intended meaning.

11. Prohibited Content

The following content is strictly prohibited and will result in listing rejection or immediate removal:

Unlawful material

Misleading advertising

Discrimination or hate speech

Offensive or abusive content

Sexually explicit material

Graphic imagery unrelated to healthcare

Spam

Malicious software

Fraudulent services

Counterfeit products

Unauthorised trademark use

Unsafe medical a11. dvice

12. Medicines & therapeutic goods

Jurisdiction-dependent

Advertising must comply with the laws of the relevant jurisdiction. Prescription medicines, therapeutic goods and regulated medical products must only be promoted where legally permitted.

Medi-Bay reserves the right to refuse advertising that may breach healthcare advertising legislation.

13. Editorial independence

Advertising does not influence Medi-Bay’s editorial content. Educational articles are developed independently unless clearly identified as sponsored content.

14. Review process

Every submission may be reviewed before publication. Medi-Bay may:

Request clarification on submitted information

VERIFY

Request supporting evidence for claims made

FORMAT

Edit formatting, spelling and grammar

DECLINE

Reject submissions that don’t meet these guidelines

REMOVE

Remove published material if concerns arise

15. Suspension or removal

Listings may be suspended or removed if:

Information is false or misleading

Professional registration has lapsed or been revoked

Complaints indicate serious inaccuracies

Advertising breaches these guidelines

Content becomes unlawful

Payment obligations for paid services are not met

Do not upload photographs of identifiable patients without their written consent.

16. Reporting concerns

Users may report inaccurate listings or inappropriate advertising. Where appropriate, Medi-Bay will investigate and may contact the advertiser for clarification.

17. Changes to these guidelines

These guidelines may be updated periodically to reflect changes in legislation, healthcare standards or platform policies. Continued use of Medi-Bay constitutes acceptance of the current version.
